The 1st dialogue promo of Office #thebrightesthorrorfilm is going viral currently. The promo reveals how and in what ways sexual harassment takes place in Offices. The gritty, dark, gloomy settings of a late night workplace is enhanced with the visual of a hapless girl and a desperate guy, in the most awkward, demeaning and degrading situation. But the creepy guy refuses to give up. “Most men don’t even realize that while they are harassing a girl, how much they are degrading themselves. How pathetic they are looking. They almost look like an animal in such a moment. I needed to use a combination of voice modulation and body language to convey that desperation and resultant degradation as my face was hardly visible in most shots in that scene’” Informs Ricky Nandal.
But there is another controversy surrounding the promo. Some people feel that it is about brother – sister incest and are criticizing it. In the wake of recent controversies like the Padmavati one, don’t you think it may snowball into an issue? “Well I won’t even go into the details of whether or not Ofiice #thebrightesthorrorfilm shows incest. My point is who are these people and why do they have a problem with everything. They never watched Padmavati and created such a huge ruckus over it, leading to the film being postponed resulting in losses for the producers. They haven’t watched Office #thebrightesthorrorfilm and are saying it shows incest. I ask “So what even if there is incest in the film? Why can’t the issue of incest be dealt with, in a film? If the censor board has cleared a certain film, then no one else has the right to oppose it” finishes of an agitated Ricky.
Produced by Full Frame Entertainment and Vishal Digital, Office #thebrightesthorrorfilm releases on 15th December 2017.
