Just because a man is in position power and is able to abuse people through it, does not mean he won’t have his insecurities. “When you abuse others, physically or psychologically, it also screws you up mentally. A potential rapist or abuser also has this fear of law and society and it is that fear which stops many from committing the crime. And hence it’s required all the more” feels Ameet Dawar.
Ameet has been a part of famous Delhi-based Natsamrat theater group. Being a trained theater actor, he wanted to convey his character’s vulnerability apart from his arrogance in ‘Office #thebrightesthorrorfilm’. “Yes the man is the Boss. Yes he feels that women working in his Office have to accept his advances. Yes he even tries to get forcibly physical with them. But when things do start getting out of hand, as one woman does speak up about it, all his fears come to the fore. He does make the empty threats of rape and killing but that’s more to hide his own fears. The Cocktail of Lust, arrogance and fear is psychologically paralyzing for him. Women must speak up about assaults, both in private and publicly and as soon as possible after the assault. That, along with the legal action is the only way to tell men to back off” suggests Ameet.
What about the horror factor in the film? “Well, as far as horror quotient of Office #thebrightesthorrorfilm is concerned, I am involved in it in a way and I am not. I am involved in it in someone’s mind in an inception kind of situation. To understand how that is possible, You will have to watch the film” finishes Ameet cheekily.
