Akshay Kumar wound up the shoot of another film, Gold, and it’s wrap-up was announced with Akshay performing a stunt-of-sorts with a chair. Clad in a Dhoti, Akshay comes running and does some sort of a somersault with a chair (I am sure Bollywood choreographers have a fancy name for the step). This is the 3rd film of Akshay locked for the next year. Akshay has continously done 3-4 films each year irrespective of their fate at the boxoffice. Since 2016 he has had a good run with Airlift, Rustom and Houseful 3 all managing to cross 100 cr. Hence this year Akshay had just two releases. But if you thought Akshay was getting choosy, well, perish the thought. The score went down because Akshay’s outing as a villain in Rajnikant’s 2.0 was scheduled for Diwali 2017 but due to work on special effects the film got postponed. But it seems Akshay is in a mood to make up for the last time. With 2.0 now scheduled for April 2018, Padman already announced for Republic Day weekend in the very beginning of the year, and Gold on 15th August makes it 3 releases for Akshay in 2018.
